Technical UX Designer
Majestic Fast Ferry
Client: Majestic Fast Ferry
Project Type: Business Website + Mobile App
Project Role: UX Designer + Consultant + UI Coordinator

The purpose of this project is to redesign the previous website to be modern, stylish and interactive and also to have the same functionality as their new mobile application.

As a UX Designer, Consultant and UI Coordinator, my role is to design both the website and the mobile app to the requirements and to coordinate with in-house designer for branding and color scheme guide.

I am responsible for the completion of low-fidelity of both website and mobile application mockups. I am also responsible for consolidating feedback from clients, coordinating with the client for their branding guide and coordinating with my in-house designer for high-fidelity of both website and mobile application mock ups.

The challenging part of the website is the Homepage, as the first fold of the webpage needs to be interactive and each interaction that the user does should change immediately.

In addition, 2/3 of the first fold will change to a map when the user begins to do any interaction on the 1/3 area. On the map, the user can also interact with the location indicator.

Definitely, the design side is not the issue but there are a few interactivity questions to discuss and clarify before the design is planned and done.

The final design can be viewed on their website.
As for the mobile application, it is a new product for Majestic Fast Ferry. Just like any other booking apps, MFF mobile app will have its promotion at the top then followed by other interactivity menus and items.

The idea of having the interactivity menu to be at the top is because when the user lands on the page, the bottom menu is hidden until the user started scrolling past the top menu.

For each promotion on the landing page and the promotion page, the items that are on the page will redirect the user to the booking page. Users can also make changes on the page as well.

Overall for this project took a year before it gets sign off due to Covid19. Definitely, when the pandemic happens, there is a lot of miscommunication between the client and myself, as the client prefers to communicate either via email or face-to-face. Hence, I managed to reconnect back with the client in the year 2020 and had a face-to-face meet-up to nail down the feedback and finish the design. I also managed to have the client sign off the project within 2 weeks.
